What is Furble?

Furble is a pet-focused online community and e-commerce platform designed to make pet medications, pet food, and other pet products readily accessible and affordable – so that every Canadian can provide for their pets in an efficient, convenient, and cost-effective way.

Who makes up the Furble community?

We’ve all heard the saying “it takes a village.” When it comes to our pets, the village consists of pet parents, veterinary professionals, and other industry professionals, all with a vested interest in Canadian animals. Uniting as one community allows us to fulfill a very important vision; that every action we take will directly support the well-being and happiness of pets in Canada.

What does Furble mean?

We’re pretty sure you know Furble already! It’s the funny voice pet parents use to communicate with their pets. Most of us speak in Furble every day! It seemed only fitting that we would choose Furble to be the name of our pet-focused online community, designed for pet parent convenience and engagement.

How does Furble benefit Pet Parents?

Our goal is to ensure that every Canadian pet parent can readily and confidently access affordable pet medications, pet foods, and pet products, empowering them to manage the health and well-being of their pets.

How does Furble support Veterinary Professionals?

Furble has created a secure e-commerce platform that enables veterinary practices to get pet medication to pet parents quickly, securely and reliably. By addressing accessibility, affordability and education, Furble’s pet-focused approach supports our common purpose of ensuring pet parents can readily manage the health and well-being of their pets.

How does Furble support Industry Partners?

Furble establishes a new channel for industry partners in the animal health sector to reach pet parents directly; educating, empowering, improving adherence, and thereby supporting the health and well-being of pets and veterinary practices alike. How does Furble give back to the community?

When we say Furble is pet-focused, we mean it. Supporting pet parents, veterinary professionals and industry partners allows us to directly influence the health and well-being of Canadian pets. That said, we are mindful that not every pet has a family (yet), not every pet parent has the means to do what’s necessary, and the communities we live in serve our united ability to do what is right for pets. Through charity work, financial contributions, and fundraising efforts, we are fundamentally committed to pets across the country by supporting them, and the people and places who care about them.

With all the consolidation happening in the veterinary industry, is Furble backed by a large corporation or private equity firm?

No. Furble is 100% independent and proudly Canadian-owned. We’re not backed by any large corporation or private equity group.

Is Furble a Canadian company?

Yes. We are 100% Canadian owned and operated. Furble was started by two Canadian veterinarians from Alberta. They saw the potential to do more for pets and their pet parents by creating an e-commerce platform that would unite all of the professionals involved in pet care and well-being; creating a convenient, accessible, and affordable option for people who care about pets.

Prescriptions and Products

Does Furble dispense injectable pet medications?

Yes.

Do I need a prescription to order pet medications?

Yes, you need a valid prescription from a licensed veterinarian in order to order items with a drug identification number (DIN). Those prescriptions will be securely sent, according to the College of Pharmacists requirements, to one of our trusted pharmacy partners, to fill and dispense.

What if my Veterinary Practice won’t give me a prescription?

Contact our Customer Care team and we will help you navigate this.

How do you verify prescriptions?

One of our partner pharmacists will directly obtain the prescription and verify it. This process typically takes around three business days.

Do you offer pet insurance plans?

Not yet, coming soon.

Are your medications sourced safely and Health Canada approved?

100%. We only source from licensed Canadian distributors and pharmacies. Same place your vet gets them!

Does Furble offer compounded medications?

Yes, Furble can help with compounded medications. Just reach out to our team and we’ll guide you through the next steps.

My pet has allergies—how can I check ingredients?

Every product listing includes full ingredient lists and usage info. Still unsure? Reach out—we’re happy to help.

Can I get veterinary-exclusive pet food diets?

Not yet, coming soon.

Do I need to visit my veterinarian before I order pet medications on Furble?

This depends on when your pet last visited your veterinary practice, and their current health status. In order to keep them safe, it will be up to the vet’s discretion as to when it is, and isn’t, appropriate to prescribe medications for your pet.

How do I place an order for non-prescription items on Furble?

Simply create an account, and add items to your cart. You can then go to your cart and process payment through our trusted and globally recognized payment processor, Moneris.

Can I order without a prescription?

Yes, for non-prescription products like pet food, treats, and wellness items. Prescription medications always require a valid prescription from your veterinarian.

Can I change or cancel an order after I’ve placed it?

Because prescriptions move quickly once approved, changes or cancellations may not be possible. If you need help, send us a note at orders@furble.com and we’ll do our best to assist.

What do I do if I can’t find what I’m looking for?

Prescriptions & Refills

How do refills work with Furble?

Refills are simple. Once your pet’s prescription is on file, the pharmacist will manage the refill process and our team will reach out to you when it is time to renew. If you ever have questions about your refill, you can contact us at orders@furble.com and we will be happy to help.

Will I get reminders when my pet’s prescription is running low?

This feature is currently in production and will be available soon – stay tuned!

How do I know how many refills I have left?

The number of refills your pet has will be listed on the original prescription from your vet, as well as on the most recently dispensed medication packaging. If you’re unsure, our pharmacy partner or your vet can confirm it for you. If you have questions, you can always reach us at orders@furble.com.

Can my vet charge me for writing a prescription?

Yes, your veterinarian can charge a fee for providing a prescription. By law, they must provide one if you request it, and they can decide how it is delivered, whether as a physical copy, fax, or e-fax. Like other healthcare professionals, vets are allowed to charge a reasonable professional fee for the time and service of preparing the prescription. While there is no set dollar limit, the fee must be shared with you in advance on a transparent invoice and should not be so high that it becomes discouraging or exploitative.

How long is a prescription valid for?

The length of time a prescription is valid depends on what your veterinarian prescribes and the regulations in your province. When your veterinarian provides the prescription, they will include both the expiry date and the number of refills allowed. Furble’s pharmacy partners will always follow what is written on the prescription and ensure it is filled in line with provincial regulations.

Shipping & Delivery

Can I track my order?

After your order ships, you’ll receive an email with tracking information. You can also check the status of your order by logging into your account and navigating to the ‘Orders’ section.

How long does delivery take?

Most orders ship within 48-72 hours after payment is received. Compounded medications may take a little longer since they are custom-made for your pet. Shipping times can also be affected by your geographical region. If your order seems delayed, email us at orders@furble.com and we will help track it down.

What if I miss my delivery?

Carriers usually make another attempt or leave a pickup notice. If you’re worried about a missed delivery, message us at orders@furble.com and we’ll work with you on next steps.

How do I update my shipping address or payment method?

You can update your details anytime in your Furble account under Account Settings. Please note that shipping addresses and payment methods cannot be changed after an order is placed. If you run into any issues, our team at orders@furble.com can walk you through it.

What are the shipping costs?

We believe in keeping things simple! We charge a $15 flat fee for shipping, so you’ll know exactly what to expect at checkout.

The only exception is for a few remote areas, which may have higher rates. But don’t worry, we’ll let you know before you complete your purchase if that’s the case!

Autoship & Subscriptions

Can I set prescriptions to Autoship?

No. Due to provincial regulations, autoship is only available for non-prescription products like food, treats, and wellness items.

Can I change my Autoship schedule?

Absolutely. You can adjust frequency, skip an order, or pause anytime in your Furble account. If you need help, send us an email at orders@furble.com.

Returns & Replacements

How do I return an item?

To return an item, contact orders@furble.com with your order number. They will work with you to determine return eligibility and provide you with instructions on how to proceed with the return.

Can I return prescription medications?

No. By law, prescription medications can’t be returned once they’ve left the pharmacy. Please reach out to orders@furble.com if you need assistance with this.

Can I return non-prescription products?

Yes, within 30 days if they’re unopened and in original condition. To start a return, email us at orders@furble.com.

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

Contact us at orders@furble.com right away. We’ll make sure it’s corrected.

Pricing, Payments & Insurance

Are prices listed in CAD?

Yes, all prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD). After all, Furble is Canadian!

Can I claim my prescriptions through pet insurance?

Most insurers and plans allow you to submit your prescription and pharmacy receipt for reimbursement. If you’re unsure, check with your provider or email us at orders@furble.com for tips on how to file.
